Merge videos in your browser

Add as many clips as you like, put them in order, and export them as a single video. Different sizes and shapes are fitted automatically, and nothing is uploaded.

Phones split long recordings, cameras cut files at 4 GB, and a story is often a handful of short clips. Merging puts them back into one file you can share, upload or keep, with your titles, music and fades running across the whole thing.

How to merge videos online

  1. Open the first clip

Drop in the clip that should play first. You can trim it on the timeline.

  2. Add the rest

Open the Merge tool, press Add clips and choose one or more files. They are added in the order you picked them.

  3. Put them in order

Use the arrows to move a clip earlier or later, or the cross to remove it. The total length updates as you go.

  4. Export

The clips play back to back in one video, with any text, music, logo and fades applied across all of them.

Clips of different sizes

Every clip is fitted into the first clip’s frame. A vertical phone clip added to a widescreen video sits in the middle with a blurred copy of itself behind it, or a solid colour if you prefer. To choose one shape for the whole video — 9:16 for Reels, 16:9 for YouTube — set it in Resize.

Edits that apply to everything

Filters, text, the logo, the blur box, fades and music run across the merged video as a whole. Crop and rotation belong to the first clip, because they depend on how that clip was filmed; fix other clips in a separate export first if they need it.

0 bytes uploaded

Your video never leaves your device

Most online video editors upload your file to their servers before you can touch it. This one works differently: every edit and every export happens inside your browser, on your own hardware.

Merging means handing over every clip at once — often a whole event, a trip or a day — which is a lot to give a server you know nothing about.

Here every clip stays on your device. Your browser plays them in order and writes one new file locally.

Merge videos — questions and answers

Can I merge videos of different sizes?

Yes. Each clip is fitted into the first clip’s frame with a blurred or solid background where the shapes differ. Use Resize to choose a frame shape for the whole video.

Can I change the order?

Yes. In the Merge tool, the arrows move a clip earlier or later and the cross removes it. The first clip is always the one you opened.

Can I trim the clips I add?

The first clip uses the Trim tool. Added clips play in full, so trim them first by exporting a trimmed copy, then add that copy here.

How many clips can I merge?

There is no fixed limit. Each clip is read from your device as it plays, so the number is limited only by time and your device’s memory.

Which browsers can merge?

Merging uses your browser’s built-in video encoder, available in recent Chrome, Edge and Safari. Older browsers show a message instead of making a broken file.

Are my clips uploaded?

No. They are joined by your own browser and never leave your device.

Can I add a transition between clips?

Not between individual clips at the moment. The Fade tool fades the start and end of the whole merged video.

Every frame is rendered on your own device. Most clips take about as long as they play; big 4K files can take longer. Keep this tab open: if you switch away it pauses, and carries on when you come back.
